During the trip, we will be staying in LOCAL TEA HOUSES and tents. In most cases, we will provide private, twin sharing rooms with attached bathrooms and sometimes there will be sharing bathrooms. Unless you book single supplement the room will have two separate beds. Double beds are not common in Tea Houses so if you are a couple you might have to push the beds together
Internet: and 3G is available all over the area .. The signal may not always be fast but it is there. Some Tea houses will charge you extra to use the internet.
Power and access to charging – All Tea Houses have this and you can charge phones, cameras and lights. In some Tea Houses, a small charge is applicable for this. But electricity is very limited. Carrying a Power Bank or spare batteries is recommended on this trip.
Hot water for showers is available in all Tea Houses, can vary depending on sunshine (some places is solar). Hot water is not automatic. The Hot Water Charge IS INCLUDED in our standard trip prices.
Laundry Service is only available in hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara
The food on the trail is pretty good. Menu items vary for the local staple Dhal Bhat (Rice, Lentils, Veg Curry, Spicy Pickle, and optional Meat Curry) to Noodles, Pasta, Roti, Eggs and all kinds of soups and locally made flatbreads, Oats and Potato dishes. Fresh Fruit is generally limited in these areas.
Vegetarians and Vegans are not a problem at all, there are multiple menu items for both requirements that are filling and nutritious and high energy. Though we do recommend you to pack nuts, dried fruit, and relevant energy items.
Drinking Water is an important topic, the tap water in Nepal is NOT SAFE to drink and mineral water bottles are an environmental hazard. Since 2017 HST is trying our best to eliminate the need for disposable water bottles. Please bring water purification tablets with you for the trip.
See you soon in Himalaya!
Respectfully,
WE ARE TRAVELLERS TEAM
